メモリが 4GB 以上あると、DVD-ROM (sata_nv) が認識されないようです。その場合、kernel のブートパラメータに
# gentoo mem=2048MB
を渡すと起動しました。(参考: http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2008-July/036795.html )

/dev/sdを raid0, sd[ab2 を raid1 + LVM で運用します。
